Well it was a fun evening of spiral meat, pasta and well....beer. Jonty and Shelly had a very warm and comfortable house for this years Jonty birthday fest. Contrary to years past, most of the 5 people who were there will remember what happened.
The BBQ hit intensity levels of strange and ridiculous, but never hit "oh shit we are out of beer at 3 in the morning let's take shots." The attendance was a little smaller than usual but it fit nicely into the newly weds apartment.
When I walked in, Courtney was smoked and marinating in a glass of simpler times. Dam that guy has a warm smile. Matt was silent in the corner, speaking mostly about some girls he has living in his one bedroom on the top on a hill. He made a crazy taste pasta bowl of feta, goat, GARLIC, and some basil. Wicked good. That guy has mad culinary skills.
Jonty and Shelly provided some great foods ranging from spiral meats, cheese cake, brie, beer, brocolli, mushrooms, and Gary's dads olive oil. (It's not cooking oil Jonty!) Courtney I believe brought the green salad with sticky hairs. I brought a box of torpedoes.
The music began and stayed pretty chill. Things did frenzy to a fever pitch when Jonty unearthed the famous Arhoo. We did our best to piss off the neighbors. It turned into a great funky jam when Shelly busted out her standup bass chops on the beastly insturment. Matt was busting lead guitar and percussion. Jonty played 10 things from China I can't name. Courtney busted a wicked Uke and I played the only 3 chords I know how to play.
Fun night. I got home at 1:30am. Here is the party favor that jonty gave to the guests:
